Chihiro Transformation. Line Up SS20.

This is my Line Up for SS20 Collection.
Taken in Japan, photography by Ria Katrina Pryke.

Based on Japanese geisha and samurai details.
A poem by Memoirs of a Geisha.
Transformed my collection in the image below. I think because it represents growth and determination to break free from society no matter how hard it defines us.

I wanted the materials used to be like running water in purple and blue with texture. The print communicates a story about a Geisha loving food part of the Japanese culture and the puff sleeves are linked to samurai with sharp shapes and trend linked. A playful design I wanted to really play with the overall design.

There is a lot of details like runching on two dresses which is a modern twist to the over all design.

Then there is one design that to me represents Chihiro from Spirited away. with shorts and a loose top.
I think I was trying to imagine Chihiro all grown up what she would wear.

To me it’s about transformation from girl to woman with the lengths of the outfits.

I looked at designers Chufy and Japanese streetwear on Vogue and tried to merge the two in to my own designs.

This is for a city gal living and wanting to be free from society.
