Concept

RiaKatrina is a Visual Designer, her concept comes from the cultural Identity which explores the playfulness of being present in different locations. She draws inspiration from plane journeys from the people she meets and works to collaborate with them to express their nature as they see themselves in the reflection of culture and society. Her works are explored in  Branding and Print/Textiles designs through prints or illustrations or photography, UX design and film making and editing,  informing a story.

Background. 

Ria is located Presently in Bournemouth currently studying her MA in Arts University Bournemouth in Graphic Design. 

Previously Ria was a student doing a BA in Performance within Design and Practise at Central Saint Martins, where she grew her illustration, photography and filming video and editing skills, producing a 45 minute film set in Taiwan collaborating with Wei Lou (Sound Designer) Aside from this she worked alongside Zahra Mansouri (Costume & Set Designer) in Scotland and London involved in making films for dance performances and edited them back at home. She travelled globally to different cultures to grow her knowledge and inspiration as she was curious about cultural Identities. This lead her to go Japan, Hong Kong, and Jordan. After University she worked for Miss Patina representing the Brand with Director Holly Wang in China and worked alongside as an Styling intern assistant for Dorothea Gundtoft (A respectable Stylist in the fashion industry) where she flew to both Denmark and Paris, one shoot for ELLE Denmark Magazine which gave her clues to where Ria could flourish in creating visual stories. Aside from this Ria has experience within MANGO as a stylist in Limassol, Cyprus and She gained a double distinction in Fashion and Textiles Pearson Diploma where she learned print and pattern cutting and sewing which became a side project focused on Print. 

Currently RiaKatrina is doing her Masters in Graphic Design Part Time for two years (so far a 2.1) which she is developing her final year project in August 2026- which focuses on Branding & Production. Her last project made her rethink about Customer UX design and she has entered in to a competition in London hoping to win to gain industry guidance on her idea.

Presently, Ria is wishing to become a Content Creator / Graphic Designer, Ria is open to collaboration and is looking for opportunities whilst studying part time to engage with others. She is wishing to work for an Inhouse advertising company that focus on Branding working alongside UX & UI Design to tell a story through visual language. She loves the idea of assisting in the look and feel of the brand.  

Whilst she grows in this field she will develop at the side as a Print Design / Textiles freelancer weekends which she finds calming and therapeutic alongside Stency Kidega in development. 

As they both go hand in hand of fine tuning the details to tell a story of visual imagination.
